Jeremy started his Information Technology career waaaay back in 2001 when Windows networking was just starting to get really popular. Training for network administration in 2001 and starting work as a Network Specialist for a local credit union in 2002, he never could have predicted how quickly new digital technologies would penetrate and invade almost every facet of our lives in the coming decades (let alone that a single device would someday take the place of your cell phone, camera, internet browser, email client, gaming computer, encyclopedia, health monitor, schedule keeper, and much more).
In 2006, he went to work for a local IT consulting firm, taking care of small businesses around town with their computing and network service needs. And in 2017, he formed his own IT consulting business after the local firm closed. Over time, he has become more and more concerned about the proliferation of Big Data into our every day lives, obliterating privacy and our sense of properly-grounded individuality. In 2020, he made the decision to finally take back control of his digital tethers by taking a number of healthy-minded steps including: closing down a number of social media accounts, heavily modifying his app notifications, deleting unneeded apps and accounts, working with a service to remove public data from aggregation ("people finder") sites, and more. Every step taken is a step toward feeling more whole and experiencing more peace.
Jeremy lives in Bakersfield, CA with his awesome and creative family, and he loves to work on music, read a wide variety of books, write fiction and non-fiction stories, ponder different philosophies, garden with his wife, collect antiques and unique vintage items, add more charm and character to his 1950's era home, have deep discussions with friends, and dote on the cats.
Digital Detox Now was launched in 2022 after Jeremy saw a great need that was largely not being met in his environment. As a service of his IT Consulting Company (IntegriTech IT Services), he hopes to "bring balance back to the Force (tm)" by helping people and companies break free from too much digital dependency and to reestablish our organic connections and mental well-being, for goodness and happiness sake.
The mission of Digital Detox Now is to help people reclaim their sanity, their peace, and their sense of self by way of removing our dependence on a number of Digital Technologies that have overwhelmed and enveloped us. Jeremy does this by creating a safe space, listening to someone's situation and goals, and creating practical steps to accomplish those goals. All in the name of supporting positive mental health for each individual, and a more discerning, informed society as a whole.
